You can easily remove SMS text messaging from your Microsoft multi-factor authentication options. Let me guide you through the process using these steps:
- Open Chrome browser
- Go to mysignins.microsoft.com
- Sign in with your user credentials for the account you want to remove text messaging
- Verify your identity via your current default authentication method
- If asked to stay signed in, you can say yes or no
- Select Security Info from left menu
- Under the current sign-in methods, delete any phone numbers and click OK
